To my self from 2016

Hello, I am very proud of you and I'm sure he was as well. You've been through a lot lately, and exceeded everyone's expectations at the same time. Now, dad is gone and he'll never know. You never realized it until now, but your whole motivation to power through was rooted in your desire to make him proud. Don't lose your drive, make yourself proud. It might look like everything's in the bag, but there are things down the road that you're not aware of and your plans might be quite flawed.

Also, don't waste your time trying to befriend people who don't really care about you and who you don't really care about yourself, if you're honest. Remember that you already have friends - and they are good ones, too. Friends, that know you really well. They will be able to handle knowing you that tiny bit better. While you're at it, google "high functioning depression" and "complex trauma". That'll save you a couple years and a bit of burnout.

Stop holding everything inside. You're exclusively externalizing pain and sarcasm cause you feel like that'll protect you, which it did. That has to stop now, cause it won't protect you from your worst enemy. You may be smart, but you lack wisdom entirely, cause you don't act on that potential.

The people that are worth falling for do exist. But you gotta work on that attitude, mister. You will grow so much as a person if you face those things. You're obsessed with truth, pain and strength and that's what you know. But ironically, you've been hiding the most important things about yourself in plain sight for too many years. That's what's keeping you from moving on.

Explore your passions and follow up on those thoughts. Get to know good, aspiring people and let them inspire you. Inspire them! Be spontaneous if you dare. The path on which you're apparently stuck on was never yours and it shows. Still, it provided you with opportunities that might not even have crossed your mind, yet.

Oh, also - you can add a ton of functionality for cheap to your multipress. Just buy some pulleys and rope, I will attach some sketches and excercises that will blow your mind. Might become really useful from 2020 on. And hey, finish all your major plans until mid 2019, very please. Hint.

ps: Drop out of uni for a semester and switch insurances - thank me later.
